A new quilt sample

6 August 2026

I’ve always liked wonky and personally meaningful things. I add only plants I like to my garden, in the places I want them, whether that’s practical or not. I play with words to express my thoughts. I work with fabrics and techniques in whatever way I enjoy, including creating irregular shapes and different stitches. It’s stimulating.

Recently, I’ve been taking a Creativebug online course devised by Heidi Parkes, called Story Quilt Top: A Daily Practice in Hand Stitching. It’s really liberated my creating and given me the freedom to express my story in cloth and thread. This is part of my piece so far.

If you’d like to try this or any other Creativebug course, they are currently offering a week’s free access so you can try out their content. Even after that expires, it’s inexpensive to subscribe. I have no relationship to Creativebug but I hope you find something of interest there.
