What an entrancing story! Opaline, Martha and Henry have entwining lives, if only they knew it. A vanishing bookshop is the key to unlocking the shared stories of these three characters; a lost bookshop that was waiting to be found.
I was pleased to discover this novel. It combines historical fiction, romance and magical realism to result in a novel for lovers of books. My suggestion is to suspend disbelief and simply accept the atmospheric flow of the story. As one of the characters, Martha, says in the novel, “Books help you to imagine a life bigger and better than you could ever dream of.”
