Detective Emilia Hart becomes involved in a case where a high-profile man is shot. When more bodies of men continue to turn up murdered in a similar style, she identifies a link between the victims: they had all been perpetrators of violence against women or children.
While working the case and juggling her complex personal and family life, Emilia again sees something her colleagues have missed. This is the big reveal of the story.
This is a strong crime fiction debut from Nina D Campbell. I’m not usually into novels about vigilantes; there are way too many books about overwrought mothers seeking revenge at the moment, in my opinion (this book is not one of those). In this novel, though, I can understand (yet not agree with) why those involved in the Daughters of Eve group seek revenge.
