While we watched the election night coverage on TV last Saturday, there was so much information to absorb. An oversupply of commentators all had opinions and numbers were being thrown around so often that they became meaningless. It was obvious from the early stages of the vote count that the Labor government would be returned; it was just a matter of by how much.
Among all the talk, one question posed by the Treasurer, Jim Chalmers, shone through. It has been noted by many people since but, wow, it really did resonate.

I’ve written about kindness before. You can read that post here. I wrote it during a difficult time for many people, when Covid lockdowns were widespread and many people were sick and stressed. Everything I said then is still valid. To kindness, Jim Chalmers has added generousness, inclusiveness and graciousness. I’m grateful to him for stating this so publicly. Let’s all spread this message and make our country even better than it already is.
