One of the best things about not being tied to paid employment is flexibility. I can use my time every day whatever way I want, to do what interests me at the time. It’s brilliant.
The downside is that, since I have so many options, I often end up doing none of them. The paralysis of indecision is real.

I find that same applies to my creative writing. In my attempt to work out the process that suits me best, I am distracted by reading the advice of many writers. A lot of what’s out there contradicts others and it all becomes a useless mess.
So, I’ve stopped reading such how-tos. Instead, I follow my own instincts because I know what’s worked for me before. I’m not going to detail my writing processes here but simply offer one suggestion – do whatever works best for you and ignore everything else. That’s what I’ll be doing!
