Last year, I bought Lap App – a small adjustable lap table – that was designed to support your hands when hand stitching. It certainly does that, and has eased the shoulder pain I used to experience during long periods of piecing or appliqué. The Lap App has other features – thread spool holders, a pocket for scissors, a magnet for needles or pins, and a sandpaper board. It’s quite a nifty (but expensive) tool.

However, I didn’t like the way it slipped around on my sewing table and my lap. There had to be a way to stop that, I thought.
Yesterday, I bought a pack of Madelle Magic Grip from Spotlight. I cut a piece to the size of the underside of the Lap App base and glued it in place. Now my Lap App doesn’t slip around, even when supporting the full weight of my hands. Magic!
