My book of the month: January 2021

28 January 2021

There are plenty of writers of Australian rural romance these days – the genre has boomed in recent years. I remember writing a blog post about it in 2014, after observing in my library that the numbers of authors writing in this genre were increasing.

Since I wrote that, there are many new authors now writing in the genre. Maya Linnell is one, whose book Bottlebrush Creek (following her rural romance debut, Wildflower Ridge) is my favourite this month.

You may remember Maya kindly took part in my Three Questions series about creativity last year.

Bottlebrush Creek is so readable, that I found myself engrossed in the story and had to keep going so I could discover the ending. When I did get there, I let out a huge sigh of satisfaction. That’s the way a story should end!

You can read more about Bottlebrush Creek on Goodreads.
