For some inexplicable reason, I haven’t been able to read books at my normal rate. Whether it’s distractions from the outside world, anxiety about things I can’t control, or just because I’m doing more sewing and gardening, I haven’t been able to focus on many novels in the past few months.
How’s your reading progressing? Are you having difficulty focusing, too?
Nevertheless, I can recommend Karin Slaughter’s latest novel, The Silent Wife. I think you’d need to have read the earlier books in this series to understand the complexities of the main characters’ backgrounds.
It’s the story of how Will Trent’s investigations into two crimes are inter-related and how they intersect with the former husband of Will’s girlfriend, medical examiner Sara Linton.
It’s a satisfying read.
