I’ve spent many hours since Friday fine tuning the programs and functionality of my new laptop computer to get it just the way I want it. I’m keen on new technology but I believe it should work for me rather than simply accept everything that a new pre configured system offers.
I loved using my old laptop. It was like an old friend and knew exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it. Sadly, it was starting to show its age – it is over five years old – by not allowing me to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11. I think it’s important to keep software up to date so that you can benefit from the latest protections and enhancements. After experiencing Windows 11, though, I can’t see why anyone would bother with it. It doesn’t appear to offer anything new that is of use to me. And don’t get me started on the intrusiveness of Microsoft One Drive – we had quite a battle but I won. I decide what I save and where I save it!
But my new machine! It’s so much faster (going up many generations of processor will do that), the screen is so clear, and the speakers play quality sound when I have my music playing. So, I’m a satisfied technology lover!
As an aside, I’ve deleted my Threads account so, if you are looking for me there, you will no longer find me. I decided it wasn’t for me.
