Ooh, a weekly catchup! I can probably only manage to recap three things in these regular posts, so let’s start a new month and see how it goes.
After writing about orangeries a couple of weeks ago, I did buy a dwarf Imperial mandarin tree from the local nursery. Once it stops raining, I’ll plant it on a large pot and situate it in the sun near my blood orange tree. (Update on the blood oranges: they are now yellowish so not long until I can devour them.)
What’s your favourite citrus fruit? Even though there’s so much citrus available when it’s in season, I love the immediacy of being able to nip outside and pluck one. Sun-warmed and fresh, it’s a delight.
I’ve never tried embroidery before but I couldn’t resist the chance to stitch one of Kasia Jacquot’s panels. It’s the luxuriousness of the multiple strands against a printed background that appealed. It also uses simple stitches, perfect for a beginner, so I’m hoping I will be okay. My beautifully packed kit has arrived, so wish me luck.
Finally, a confession. I still haven’t picked up my knitting to finish the front bands on my cardigan. Sigh.
